EXPLORER RIDE WED JULY 24, 2026
BILL COLLINS RD NEW TRAILS (and newly reopened trails Wizards Way)
READY TO RIDE 830am (due to heat and humidity).
From Lynne Driscoll Ride Leader
START AT NEW PARKING AREA (Elaine Bowne property) off BILL COLLINS ROAD - look for map link in this event calendar, or in your membership packet.
IT'S STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO GO DO A DRIVE-BY OF NEW PARKING AREA (in your car) before bringing your rig. There is a turnaround next to barn / workshop, and parking next to fence. Very Large Rigs are NOT RECOMMENDED.
Due to the heat and humidity, be ready to ride , in saddle, by 830am Wednesday July 24.
These are the recently opened (and re-opened) trails on the furthest north part of our system. Trails are moderately technical in some places, and somewhat overgrown in some of the areas. Be prepared for Creek crossings, brushy trails, horses next to fences, large equipment, and having to ride underneath the I-74 overpass. Are you and your horse prepared for these conditions?
Expected route is CALL AN UBER (LOL!), to Smith Waldrop, to Christine's Way, down to Wizards Way, onto Anna Dalton's trails, then to the airstrip field, returning the same way to parking area. These trails are a hidden gem! The route is nearly 6 miles and will take a little over 2 hours. Be sure to have fly repellent , maybe a fly whisk, and water for yourself.
If you carry an EpiPen, please advise the ride leader.
