Subject: FETA: Trail Workday and Updates
From: FETA Board

Dear FETA Trail Owners,

FETA is hosting a volunteer workday today (10/12/2024) following Hurricane Helene. We are so grateful for everyone planning to attend.

The FETA trails were hit hard by Hurricane Helene, and there are too many trees down across the trails for us to have these trees removed by a professional, which makes this volunteer day all the more important! We couldn’t do this without our volunteers.

On our workday, each group of volunteers will be led by an experienced Crew Leader. Volunteer groups will be working on non-technical trees that do not require a professional to remove. Volunteers will also be marking open trails with surveyors tape so that Riding Members know which trails they may ride. Before announcing any trail openings, board members will ride or walk the cleared loops to ensure they are passable for horses.

A limited number of trails will be open for riding following the work day, and the FETA board will send out an email to announce these trails once we have ensured their safety and clearance.

A note to members: ALL FETA TRAILS are currently closed until further notice.

We look forward to getting our beloved FETA trails rideable again and appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as we navigate this process,

 Sincerely,

Your FETA board
